Technology has Changed Society's Expectations of Mass Media and Culture

Technology and Change in Media( Print News) and Culture

(Hyndman, 2017)In his book "Reframing the News" he argues that the Internet has blurred the previously obvious notions of who is considered a journalist, and the print newspapers, which always produced most of the nation's news.  People are no longer interested in print journalism as they were in the nineteenth and early twentieth century; even journalists are no longer their jobs because communication technology has changed the internal and external perspective of print journalism.  As (Hyndman, 2017)said, "Newspaper advertising revenue has fallen by two-thirds, and three out of every ten newsroom jobs have been lost." (p,177) With the advent of social media, the spread of smartphones, and the ease of accessing various news via mobile phones through social media or some news applications, adding (Cornelia Wolf, 2015), "mobile devices allow users to stay connected to the Internet".  Internet Accordingly, they change the reception of information by faster access; people resort to methods that save time and effort and are characterized by diversity.

Social media is one of the most important and widely used media for news, entertainment, and communication. According to (PewResearch Center 2022 ), social media plays a crucial role in news consumption. Today, half of the adults in the United States get their news at least occasionally from social media. Not only was news or media content consumed, anyone could create content on the Internet. In addition to the diversity of news content in these media, its spread and ease of use, and diversity of audiences characterize it.

The scene seemed different from what it was. The print press continued for decades, but now it has begun to fade and disappear, which is not a mistake in its creation. Still, the development of communication and Information technology and the emergence of social media and digital media have attracted people to use it more than ever and even become a source of cultural Information, news, entertainment, and so many different aspects in one place that one can carry in one's pocket. It's a smartphone. It has changed a lot and is constantly changing.
