Technology has Changed Society's Expectations of Mass Media and Culture

Technology and Change in Media (News) and Culture

News consumption is no longer from the traditional media as it used to be. Most people do not wait for the evening news and do not rely on the paper newspaper to read news and opinion articles, and do not listen to the radio in cars or do freelance work. Yes, the smartphone came and combined all media means and made choices. Furthermore.  as shared by (Johanna Dunaway, 2021), "Smartphones are expanding physical access to news and political information by making access to the internet available to more people, at more times throughout the day." For example, many People turn to the phone to read local or international news, and we even use the phone daily to look at the weather news; also, when was the last time you sat down to receive news broadcasts from TV? Yes, communication technology has changed the nature of our dealings with culture and media.

According to the (PewResearch,2019) Center, the US digital news industry faces a complex future. On the one hand, a steadily increasing portion of Americans are getting news online, and many adults in the United States are getting their news on social media." It's still going online more than ever.

The scene seemed completely different from what it was before. The media, especially television, was an essential element, or our main component of the family home, but now the Internet has become the main and indispensable component.
